The Centre Area Transportation Authority announced Wednesday several price increases for rolls of tokens and CATA OnePasses.
CATA’s base fare — $1.50 for one-way cash trips and single-token purchases — will not change, according to a news release.
Effective Monday, though, a roll of 20 tokens will cost $29, up from $28, the authority reported.
A one-month OnePass will cost $59, up from $55.
And a four-month OnePass will cost $229, up from $215.
In addition, fare for CATA’s Game Day Shuttle, operated during the Penn State football season, will climb to $3 — from the earlier $2 — in the coming season.
The transit agency has been coping with rising costs and declining state and federal support. In addition to raising some fares, it has been selectively paring some services — and has opened its buses to increased advertising opportunities, as well.
There will be no fare changes other than those noted above, according to CATA. Additional information is available via the CATA website and by phone: (814) 238-2282.
