The Centre County Office of Aging is reporting that a company doing business as the Senior Advisory Center is soliciting older adults by direct mail, promising to help complete property tax and rent rebate forms for a $39 fee.
The Office of Aging and most state legislative offices provide that service for free, according to a statement released to news outlets.
The deadline for filing 2010 rebate forms has been extended to Dec. 31, 2011.
