Centre County Reports 4 New COVID-19 Cases

Centre County reported four new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the county’s total to 184 since the first was reported on March 20.

In the past two weeks, the county has added 27 cases of the virus.

Statewide, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 456 new positives on Monday, increasing the commonwealth’s total to 82,186.

Pennsylvania has had 6,426 total deaths attributed to the virus, including three new deaths reported on Monday. Centre County has had six COVID-19 deaths, the most recent on May 27.

An estimated 78 percent of patients with the virus — or about 64,105 — have recovered, according to DOH.

Among Pennsylvania’s total cases, 79,405 are confirmed and 2,325 are probable. In Centre County, 174 are confirmed and 10 are probable.

16823 (Bellefonte): 42

16801 (State College): 40

16803 (State College): 38 (+2)

16827 (Boalsburg): 11 (+1)

16870 (Port Matilda): 9

16841 (Howard): 5

16865 (Pennsylvania Furnace), 16828 (Centre Hall), 16866 (Philipsburg), 16844 (Julian), 16875 (Spring Mills), 16852 (Madisonburg), 16872 (Rebersburg) and 16845 (Karthaus) each have 1-4 confirmed cases. Specific numbers are not provided for zip codes with fewer than five cases. 

Centre County nursing home cases remained unchanged, with 23 among residents and 14 among employees at two facilities. 

Among bordering counties, Huntingdon now has 240 total cases, Union has 89, Clinton has 71, Clearfield has 67, Mifflin has 61 and Blair has 58.

A total of 576,015 patients in Pennsylvania have tested negative for COVID-19, including 3,657 people in Centre County. Across the state,  754 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, with 150 requiring use of a ventilator as of noon on Monday.
