Centre Foundation is looking for the next innovative and community-focused idea to receive the annual Centre Inspires grant of up to $100,000.
Applicants must be beneficiaries of a a Centre Foundation endowment fund or partner with an endowed organization.
“The Centre Inspires granting program encourages organizations to think creatively about ways in which we can transform our community,” Centre Foundation Executive Director Molly Kunkel said in a release. “Projects that are highly visible and serve a wide audience will be given first priority.”
Launched in 2014, the Centre Inspires grant has invested a total of $400,000 to date in the community. Projects supported by the grant have included Book Benches, Food Centres, Centred Outdoors, and last year’s recipient Good Day Café, Strawberry Fields Inc.’s soon-to-open coffee shop in the Hamilton Square Shopping Center which will employ people with disabilities.
The Centre Inspires grant was created to support projects that will make a significant local impact by meeting a need in an innovative way and encouraging people to be more engaged in their community.
“Participants frequently tell us that this is a refreshing experience that enables them to think beyond their typical mission, form non-traditional partnerships, and brainstorm inspirational ways to make an impact in our community,” Kunkel said.
Applications are due by Aug. 2 and guidelines can be found here.
