Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that happened early Saturday morning in downtown State College.
According to State College Police, at about 2:30 a.m. the driver of an SUV traveling on East Calder Way ran a stop sign and struck another vehicle traveling on South Garner Street.
Witnesses described the striking vehicle as a “metallic brown” SUV, possibly a Subaru Forester, with a license plate possibly starting with JDB. The front of the vehicle had light damage.
Police said the driver and vehicle were seen on surveillance video and the driver is described as an African-American male with shoulder- length black hair pulled back in a ponytail.
Anyone who may be able to identify the driver or who has information regarding the incident is asked to contact the State College Police Department at (814) 234-7150, by email or by submitting an anonymous tip through the department’s website.
