The debate will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, in Freeman Auditorium in the HUB-Robeson Center.

The topic of this year’s debate is, “Is perception reality? The role of media in shaping a partisan climate.” Tickets for the event are free and can be picked up on the ground floor of the HUB beginning Friday, according to tweets from the two organizations.

Dean was governor of Vermont from 1991 to 2003 and ran for president in 2004. He chaired the Democratic National Committee from 2005 to 2009.

Spicer was White House Press Secretary under President Donald Trump from January to July of 2017. He was previously communications director for the Republican National Committee from 2011 to 2017.
