Judge Orders Response to Curley’s Request for Emails About Sandusky Scandal

Prosecutors have been given a 20-day deadline to respond to former Penn State athletic director Tim Curley’s request for access to email records linked to the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

This follows similar motions filed by former Penn State president Graham Spanier and former vice president Gary Schultz.

Dauphin County President Judge Todd Hoover responded similarly to each of these motions, placing deadlines on prosecutors to respond to these requests for emails and other electronic documents.

These requests ask for a large database of over 20 million emails and related materials that were originally thought to have been deleted. The Attorney’s General office has since recovered these records over the course of the Sandusky investigation.

Curley, Schultz and Spanier are charged with perjury in relation to an alleged cover-up of the Sandusky sex abuse scandal. A trial date has not been set.
