Man Charged with Indecent Exposure, Open Lewdness

A Lewisburg man is facing charges after allegedly exposing himself to a woman in State College.

According to a criminal complaint filed on Friday, a woman contacted police on the evening of Nov. 26 and said a man, identified as Hunter R. Vassar, 20, had followed her from West Fairmount Avenue to her aunt’s house on the 300 block of West Prospect Avenue.

Vassar reportedly stopped the woman in the front yard and asked for help because he left his phone in his friend’s car and they had become separated. Police say the woman allowed Vassar to use the house phone and her aunt’s laptop to contact his friends through Facebook.

Vassar told them woman he didn’t remember where his friend’s car was and didn’t know the area because he went to Bucknell University, so the woman told him to goto Hamilton Square and wait for his friends, police said.

Before he left, Vassar allegedly said he had one more question, ‘gestured to his exposed penis and asked if it was small,’ according to the complaint.

He allegedly asked again and the woman said, ‘You can’t do that, I’m sorry,’ before locking the door and calling police.

Vassar was charged with indecent exposure, a second-degree misdemeanor, and open lewdness, a third-degree misdemeanor. He was arraigned by summons on Friday by District Judge Carmine Prestia. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 5.
