A 24-year-old New Hampshire man was hospitalized after falling from the second level of an apartment building parking deck in downtown State College.

State College Police said the man, a Penn State alumnus who was visiting town for the weekend, was found at 3:20 a.m. Friday lying face-down in the mulch on a parking island outside of the garage, on the Calder Way side of the building at 141 S. Garner St.

He was taken by Centre LifeLink to Mount Nittany Medical Center, then transported to the trauma center at UPMC Altoona for a closed head injury. He is in serious condition and his family has been notified.

Police said alcohol was involved in the incident and a review of video evidence determined the fall was accidental.
