State College Police are investigating an assault that sent a man to the hospital.
The assault happened at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday on West College Avenue somewhere between South Atherton Street and South Patterson Street, police said. A 21-year-old man with injuries to his face and head was found lying in the grass on the 500 block of West College Avenue.
The man was treated for injuries at UPMC Altoona and released.
‘A witness heard a commotion behind him and when he turned around he saw a group of males fleeing from the area of the victim,’ police said in a release.
Anyone who may be able to identify any males from the group or who has information regarding the incident is asked to contact the State College Police Department at (814) 234-7150, by email or by submitting an anonymous tip through the department’s website
