No New COVID-19 Cases in Centre County

Centre County reported no new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, keeping its total since the first was reported on March 20 at 180.

In the past two weeks, the county has added 24 new cases.

Statewide, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 464 new positives on Sunday, bringing the commonwealth’s total to 81,730. 

Pennsylvania has had 6,423 total deaths attributed to the virus, including four new deaths reported on Sunday. Centre County has had six COVID-19 deaths, the most recent on May 27.

An estimated 77 percent of patients with the virus — or about 62,932 — have recovered, according to the health department.

Among Pennsylvania’s total cases, 79,405 are confirmed and 2,325 are probable. In Centre County, 171 are confirmed and nine are probable.

16801 (State College): 40

16803 (State College): 36

16827 (Boalsburg): 10

16870 (Port Matilda): 9

16841 (Howard): 5

16865 (Pennsylvania Furnace), 16828 (Centre Hall), 16866 (Philipsburg), 16844 (Julian), 16875 (Spring Mills), 16852 (Madisonburg) and 16872 (Rebersburg) each have 1-4 confirmed cases. Specific numbers are not provided for zip codes with fewer than five cases. 

Among bordering counties, Huntingdon now has 240 cases, Union has 88, Clinton has 70, Clearfield has 66, Mifflin has 61 and Blair has 58.

A total of 576,015 patients in Pennsylvania have tested negative for COVID-19, including 3,565 people in Centre County. Across the state,  729 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, with 149 requiring use of a ventilator as of noon on Sunday.
