Centre County’s total number of COVID-19 cases remained unchanged on Thursday with no new cases reported for the second consecutive day. Since the first was reported on March 20, the county has had 172 cases of the virus.
In the past two weeks, Centre County has added 18 new cases.
Statewide, the Department of Health reported 418 new positives on Thursday, bringing Pennsylvania’s total to 80,236. It marked the sixth consecutive day of fewer than 500 new cases.
The health department also reported 42 new deaths attributed to the virus, increasing the state’s total to 6,361. Centre County has had six COVID-19 deaths, the most recent on May 27.
An estimated 76 percent of patients with the virus — or about 60,979 — have recovered, according to DOH.
Among Pennsylvania’s total cases, 77,949 are confirmed and 2,287 are probable. In Centre County, 163 are confirmed and nine are probable.

16865 (Pennsylvania Furnace), 16828 (Centre Hall), 16866 (Philipsburg), 16844 (Julian), 16875 (Spring Mills), 16852 (Madisonburg) and 16872 (Rebersburg) each have 1-4 cases. Specific numbers are not provided for zip codes with fewer than five cases.
Among bordering counties, Huntingdon now has 239 cases, Union has 83, Clinton has 65, Clearfield and Mifflin each have 61 and Blair has 55.
A total of 543,832 patients in Pennsylvania have tested negative for COVID-19, including 3,286 people in Centre County. Across the state, 750 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, with 169 requiring use of a ventilator as of noon on Thursday.
