A section of Interstate 99 near State College was closed for more than two hours after a rollover crash on Wednesday afternoon.

I-99 southbound was closed at the Gray’s Woods exit after a dump truck overturned at about 12:30 p.m. near mile marker 67.6 in Patton Township, according to reports from Centre County Emergency Alerts and Information and Centre County 911. The driver was injured in the crash, according to Centre County Emergency Alerts, but the extent of the injuries was not yet clear.

Southbound traffic was directed off the highway at exit 68-Gray’s Woods/Waddle until the road reopened at 2:55 p.m., according to Centre County 911.

State College Area School District sent a message advising families prior to the reopening that buses that normally travel in the area of the crash may experience delays during afternoon dismissal.

Alpha Fire Company and Centre LifeLink EMS were dispatched to the scene.
