Want a Blue-White game worn jersey? Want to help charity?
Well here’s your chance.
Twenty Blue-White game jerseys are up for auction with all proceeds going to Penn State’s Uplifting Athletes Chapter.
The auction is available on GoPSUsports.com or this website link: https://bit.ly/BWAuction2015. The jerseys are practice quality jerseys (not game quality) with a special Uplifting Athletes patch. Bidding ends on Friday, April 24 at 5 p.m.
Equally as important, the 13th Annual Penn State Uplifting Athletes “Lift for Life” will take place on Saturday, July 11.
Uplifting Athletes is a national nonprofit organization that enlists college football programs in the fight against rare diseases. It works to make those efforts a national priority through research, outreach, education and advocacy.
The organization is fully run by athletes. The Penn State unit is led by linebacker Ben Kline.
In addition to Penn State, Uplifting Athletes Chapters can be found at: Nebraska, Ohio State, Kent State, NC State, Fordham, St. Francis, Notre Dame, Maryland, Illinois, Northwestern, Princeton and Colgate. Each chapter adopts one out of approximately 7,000 rare diseases (such as ALS, Aplastic Anemia, CMT, cystic fibrosis, Ehlers-Danlos, Ewing’s Sarcoma, Kidney Cancer, Leukemia, MS, Neimann Pick Type-C, Neuroblastoma, pancreatic cancer, etc.).
Penn State’s chapter of Uplifting Athletes has raised just over $1 million for the fight against Kidney Cancer.
This year’s goal for Lift For Life is $150,000. The event features Penn State football players competing in feats of strength and ends with a highly anticipated tug-of-war.
