Penn State Police are investigating the report of a man wielding a knife attempting to rob a student near the White Building on campus in September.

Police said a student called police and said sometime between Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, a white male approached his friend and held a knife to him in an attempt to rob the man. No one was harmed or robbed in the incident but police said there is a possibility that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to residents and guests of the Penn State community and surrounding area.

No other identifying information on the assailant could be released.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Penn State Police at (814) 863-1111 or can report a tip anonymously via the university’s ‘Silent Witness‘ program.
