A section of Route 550 (Buffalo Run Road) in Patton Township will close for two days beginning Monday, Aug. 10, as PennDOT replaces a drainage pipe beneath the roadway.
The closure will be at the intersection of Route 550 and Bernel Road. During the maintenance, motorists will be directed along a detour using Fillmore Road, Fox Hill Road/Fox Hollow Road, Park Avenue Extension, Interstate 99 and Skytop Mountain Road.

PennDOT said replacing the pipe will help prevent uncontrolled water flow from damaging the roadway and will extend the life of the pavement. Work will be performed by PennDOT maintenance forces.
The project is expected to take about two days to complete, though the schedule could change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, according to PennDOT.
Travelers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and follow the posted detour while the closure is in place.
