With a memorable Instagram post, former Penn State football lineman Devon Still said the words fans have been waiting for: Leah, his daughter who was diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma in June of last year, seems to be cancer free.

After revealing his daughter’s diagnosis last year, both Still and Leah have remained optimistic and in turn received a flurry of national support.

Still’s team, the Cincinnati Bengals, launched a campaign to raise awareness and money for the Stills.

State College businesseses, such as the Family Clothesline, have showed their support with various fundraisers and donations. Even other sports teams, including the Patriots and the Flyers, helped support a fellow athlete.

In his Instagram post Devon says, “That moment you get the best news you’ve ever received and don’t know what to do so you just flex!!

“We got Leah’s MIBG Scans back tonight and the doctors told us they didn’t see any active disease in her body!!! We still have to wait for her MRI and bone biopsy results later this week. But the doctors feel very optimistic about them because of the results from today. So for now we celebrate!! #LeahStrong #PrayersWork #ThankYouEveryOne #ImSoHappyIFeelNumb #BeatCancer”

In September, following her diagnosis, Leah had a successful tumor removal surgery after a nearly six-hour long procedure.

And now, finally, the positivity and hard work of Devon and Leah Still, as well as all those who have been supporting from the sidelines, seems to have paid off.

According to Devon, Leah shows no signs of active disease in her initial scans — though they’re awaiting news from her MRI and bone biopsy. Regardless, it’s clear that Devon and Leah are both extremely optimistic, grinning and flexing in celebration.
