Rain and thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening with more severe storms predicted for Wednesday afternoon and evening.

“It’s warm and sticky out there (today) and it looks like there’s going to be a couple of showers and thunderstorms that are going to fire up this afternoon,” says AccuWeather Meteorologist Paul Walker.

The high Tuesday will be about 84. Overnight it will remain humid with a low of 68.

The humidity will continue into Wednesday with a high of 86.

A cold front is expected to move into the area Wednesday afternoon bringing some strong thunderstorms late in the day and into the evening.

“There’s a good possibility (Wedensday) we could see some strong winds and heavy downpours with the storms that come through tomorrow afternoon and the first part of tomorrow night,” Walker says.

The cold front will also cool things down for Thursday when there will be less humidity and the high will be about 75.
