StateCollege.com has relaunched its mobile site, offering users smoother, more comprehensive mobile access to a variety of local information.
Released this week, the 2.0 version of the mobile site is ‘touch-optimized’ and should work seamlessly with up-to-date smartphones, including BlackBerrys, iPhones and Android devices, said StateCollege.com Senior Web Developer Tyler Wilkinson. He said it’s also designed to work well on tablet devices.
‘It’s user-friendly, with big contact points for your fingers,’ Wilkinson said. The mobile site loads more quickly on mobile devices than does the desktop version of StateCollege.com. Plus, it includes many of the conventional site’s most popular features, including an online dining guide and mobile food-ordering options; apartment and real-estate listings; bar specials; a community calendar; movie times; weather information; and local news.
StateCollege.com encourages reader feedback about the new mobile site, which continues to be a work in progress. Much of StateCollege.com’s development and evolution have emerged with input from readers — a tradition the site would like to maintain.
