UNIVERSITY PARK — The Student Farm at Penn State and the Barn at Lemont will host a free “Tools and Techniques” home gardening workshop from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Student Farm, located at the intersection of Big Hollow and Fox Hollow roads.
All members of the community are invited to the workshop for a hands-on experience in the field to learn about home gardening tools and techniques.
Leslie Pillen, Student Farm coordinator, and Brian Kinney, co-owner of the Barn at Lemont, will lead discussions about drip irrigation methods and weed management, and demonstrations of potato hilling and tomato trellising. Gardening questions are encouraged.
Workshop attendees should wear sturdy shoes and bring water and sunscreen.
