While the report from University Park police is light on details of the alleged crime, it does say that the department is looking for a suspect involved in an assault incident.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 2:51 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, inside Snyder Hall on campus. Snyder Hall is located within East Residence Halls, the exclusively-freshmen dorm buildings on the northeast corner of campus.
Police provided a picture of a male suspect and said that they are ‘seeking assistance in identifying a person believed to have been involved in an assault.’
The department is asking for help with this investigation, urging anyone who recognizes the pictured suspect or has any information on the incident to call them at 814-863-1111 or send an e-mail to tips@centrecountycrimestoppers.org. You can also submit an anonymous tip online here.
Police remind the community to report all suspicious people, vehicles, and activities to them. They also stress the importance of locking dorm room doors and windows and not letting strangers ‘piggy back’ into residence halls when swiping into the building lobbies.
