Recent weather will force Penn State to close several parking lots for Saturday’s Penn State football Homecoming game against Maryland at Beaver Stadium.
The university announced on Thursday that the closures were caused by ‘cooler, damp conditions, damage to the fields at last week’s game and the potential for inclement weather on Saturday.’
Fans will not be able to park in the Brown lot, Family Friendly lot and Yellow lot 12.
– Brown Lot parking passes will be honored in the Orange lot and Blue lot, and drivers heading to those lots should plan to arrive from the east to access the Orange lot or from Route 26/East College Avenue to access the Blue lot.
– Yellow pass holders who have parked in Lot 12 should park in the yellow lots on the east side of the stadium.
ADA permits will not be affected, according to the university release.
Saturday’s game kicks off at noon, and the current forecast calls for periods of rain from the morning through early afternoon, according to AccuWeather. Penn State also reminded fans that umbrellas are not allowed in the stadium.
Security measures that have been in place since the start of the season will continue, with fans being required to empty their pockets and be scanned by a metal detecting wand before entering the stadium.
