Initial report, posted @ 6:36 p.m. July 26:

East College Avenue traffic was tied up Tuesday evening in College Township after a sedan went off the roadway and crashed, WJAC TV reported.

The sedan, a red Mazda, traveled off the road on the 1900 block shortly before 5 p.m., WJAC reporter Bill Wadell said on the station’s 6 p.m. news broadcast.

Wadell, citing State College-area emergency responders, said the vehicle went down a steep embankment near the Pike Street intersection.

Preliminary reports indicated that two people in the vehicle were transported from the scene, Wadell said.

He said traffic flow on that stretch of East College Avenue has been reduced as emergency workers deal with the situation.
