Woman Allegedly Stole $1,200 in Clothes from Nittany Mall Store

A Williamsport woman is facing charges after allegedly stealing more than $1,200 in clothing from Macy’s in the Nittany Mall.

State College Police were called at 8:50 p.m. on Thursday to the store where loss prevention officers had the woman in custody, according to a criminal complaint.

Store staff reportedly told police they had observed the suspect taking clothes off of multiple racks and putting them under the displays. She then allegedly took multiple items and placed them in a single pile under a display.

Police said that after leaving for a short time, the woman returned to the pile and took the items into a changing room. She then allegedly left the changing room with the items in a bag and exited the store.

The woman reportedly provided two different names and dates of birth, neither of which police could confirm. Police said they eventually identified her as Terry L. Moore, 19.

The total reported value of the items taken was $1,216.

Moore was charged with third-degree felony retail theft and a third-degree misdemeanor count of providing false identification to law enforcement.

She was arraigned before District Judge Kelley Gillette-Walker and bail was set at $10,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
