Another former Nittany Lion could soon be headed to the Hall.
Former Penn State wide receiver Bobby Engram is among 80 FBS players and nine coaches who will be included on the 2027 College Football Hall of Fame ballot, the National Football Foundation (NFF) announced on Monday.
Engram suited up in the blue and white from 1991-95, earning three first-team All-Big Ten honors and three All-American designations, including one on the first team. He won the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver during Penn State’s undefeated season in 1994.
He became the first Nittany Lion to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in a single season, totaling 167 receptions for 3,026 yards and 31 touchdowns across four seasons. He still holds program records for career receiving yards and career receiving touchdowns.
Engram was drafted in the second round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, where he played five seasons before joining the Seattle Seahawks for the next eight. He then had brief stints with the Kansas City Chiefs (2009) and Cleveland Browns (2010) before entering coaching. He finished his pro career with 650 receptions for 7,751 yards and 35 touchdowns, including a career-high 94 receptions for 1,147 yards in 2007.
Engram went on to coach for the San Francisco 49ers (2011), Pittsburgh Panthers (2012-13), Baltimore Ravens (2014-2021), Wisconsin Badgers (2022) and Washington Commanders (2023-current) in various offensive roles.
Results of the Hall of Fame voting will be announced in early 2027 at the 69th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by Las Vegas, with more details to be released at a later date.
