Penn State football added a big piece to its 2023 class on Tuesday afternoon, heading down south for Alabama defensive end prospect Tomarrion Parker.
The four-star talent is rated the No. 48 prospect in the 2023 class according to the 247 Network and the sixth-best defensive line prospect in the cycle.
Parker hits the scales at 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds. Penn State coach James Franklin and staff beat out the likes of Florida, Michigan State, Alabama and Tennessee among others for Parker’s services.
A native of Phenix City, Alabama, Parker was recruited by Penn State defensive line coach John Scott Jr. Interestingly enough, former defensive line coach Sean Spencer was Parker’s primary recruiter for Florida.
Parker most recently visited Penn State this past weekend on June 17. He is the 14th verbal commitment to Penn State’s 2023 haul which was ranked No. 6 in the nation by the 247 Network heading into Tuesday morning. Parker is the third defensive line prospect in the class but the highest rated, coming in ahead of line prospect Tyriq Blanding and edge rusher Jameial Lyons.
