It is now widely known that Tate’s final two choices were Michigan and Penn State, so JoePa understood the power of the Force. During his press conference, he complimented the young Wolverine.
“He’s a kid that just has something about him,” Paterno said of Forcier. “He reminds me a little of that big kid at Florida, [Tim] Tebow. But Forcier has a little more finesse. He’s not just a power player. He has that confidence, that leadership quality.
“He’s a kid who probably goes to bed on Thursday or Friday night playing the upcoming game in his head. He’s a good player, a coach’s player.”
