Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts

The skies were sunny and temperatures were in the mid 80s as the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts kicked off on Wednesday. But at one small space along South Allen Street, it felt more like Christmas.

People’s Choice now hosts nearly 200 artisans, a wide array of food vendors, wineries, family activities and continuous music and entertainment on two stages.

Penn State’s popular AstroFest program, a four-night festival of astronomy activities and stargazing, will welcome visitors for its 21st year from Wednesday through Saturday. The program will run from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. each night during the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts.

CATA will once again provide expanded Blue Loop bus service during the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts from Wednesday, July 10, through Sunday, July 14.

BookFest is back to open another chapter on July 13, and Maria Burchill says she is looking forward to the “look of fascination” on the faces of visitors as they interact with favorite authors.
