With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Connie Hines, on Saturday, August 24, 2024.

Constance F. Hines, born on April 20, 1935, in Philipsburg, PA, was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Lorena (Bamat) Rolley of Karthaus, PA. She graduated as Salutatorian from Cooper Township High School in 1953. On October 20, 1956, she married Robert N. Hines at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frenchville, PA.

Connie is survived by her children, Kimberly Van Buskirk and her husband, David, of State College, and Brett Hines and his partner, Larinda Zeien, of Marion, IA; her sister, Sharon Rolley of State College; her grandchildren, Andy and John Van Buskirk, and Serena Hines; and her great-grandchildren, Bo, Atlas, Quinn, and Julianna Van Buskirk.

In addition to her parents and husband, Connie was preceded in death by her grandson, Colin Hines, and her sister, Audrey Shadeck.

Connie was a talented accountant and worked alongside her husband in their business, Centre Carriers Moving and Storage, for many years. She loved to garden. She could not wait to get into the greenhouses each spring to surround herself with the beauty of her flower creations. She also enjoyed competitive games of Scrabble with her sisters and cherished playing bridge.

Above all, Connie treasured spending time with her family, who were the center of her life. Her love for them was immeasurable, and their affection for her was equally deep.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Harmony of State College and Grane Hospice for their exceptional care and support.

A private burial will take place at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Bellefonte, PA, as per the family’s wishes.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc. in Milesburg, PA. An online guest book is available for signing and condolences at www.daughenbaughfuneralhome.com.
