Desiree Marie Bupp, 27, of Port Matilda, died in her sleep on Saturday, October 8, 2016, in Philadelphia.
Born April 27, 1989, in State College, she was the daughter of Richard F. and Donna Burak Bupp of Port Matilda.
In addition to her parents, Desiree is survived by her son, Richard “Ricky” Douglas Sweeney, of Port Matilda, and his father, Paul “PJ” Sweeney, of Johnstown; her Nana, Erla Jodon of Boalsburg; maternal aunt, Deborah Burak of Pittsburgh; maternal aunt, Diane McLaughlin and her husband, Brian, of Pittsburgh; paternal aunts and uncles, Diane and Mark Sheridan of Houston, TX, Georgia and Steve Bupp of Brooklyn, NY, Bonnie and Jeff Bupp of Lansdale, and Kathy and Evan Thomas of Bethany Beach, DE; and 8 cousins.
Desiree graduated from State College High School in 2007. She attended Empire Beauty School and later held various jobs in Centre County.
Desiree loved her son with all her heart; together they enjoyed listening to music and dancing, dressing up in pretend play, and cuddling to read books. She and Ricky also loved to tell each other really silly jokes and playing hide and seek. Desiree had a very caring heart and she always chose to see the best in people. She was trusting and kind to everyone she encountered. Desiree is deeply loved and will be missed immeasurably.
Visitation will be 2 until 4p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College, PA. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm on Sunday, at the funeral home with Jackie Hook officiating.
Private burial will be in Pine Grove Mills Cemetery.
