Eva J. Hicks Eminhizer, 87, of State College, died on July 3, 2010 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born November 3, 1922, in Black Hawk, PA, she was a daughter of the late Douglas and Annie E. (Williams) Brooks.

In 1943 she married Myron F. Hicks who preceded her in death on July 3, 1988; she subsequently married Cy Eminhizer who preceded her in death on December 29, 2008.

She was a member of the Eagle Heights Bible Church. She loved the Lord and attending church when she was able. She enjoyed babysitting for many years. She also enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking and sewing.

Eva is survived by four sons: William H. Hicks of Centre Hall, Douglas E. (Sally) Hicks of Rebersburg, Stephen R. (Connie) Hicks of Howard and Timothy M. Hicks of State College; one brother, Roy (Sharon) Brooks of Runville; two sisters: Dorcas Klinefelter of State College and Emma Jane Confer of Julian; eight grandchildren: Edward (Kendra) Hicks, Titus Hicks, Douglas W. (Heidi) Hicks, Tammy I. (Edwin) Broker, James J. (Tracy) Hicks, Nathan (Danielle) Hicks, Matthew (Jodi) Hicks and Sarah (Jim) Hurlburt; thirteen great grandchildren: Kevin, Melinda, Eddie, Jessica, Bryan, Courtney, Jimmy, Alyssa, Emily, John, Laura, Joe and Josh; and two great great grandchildren: Tristan and Peyton.

In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by a sister Edith Brooks; and three brothers: Russell, David and Harry Brooks.

Visitation will be 1- 2:30 PM, Wednesday July 7, 2010, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 PM at the funeral home, with the Reverend Kenton Shaw officiating. Interment will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
