Centre County reported one new COVID-19 case on Wednesday, bringing its total to 158 since the first was confirmed on March 20.
In the past two weeks, the county has added nine new cases of the virus.
Statewide, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 410 new cases, the 31st consecutive day with fewer than 1,000 new cases and fourth consecutive with fewer than 500. Pennsylvania has had a total of 76,846 COVID-19 cases.
DOH also reported 48 new deaths attributed to the virus, bringing the state’s total to 6,062. The department has reported seven deaths in Centre County, although the coroner’s office has confirmed only six. DOH reports deaths by county of residency, so it is likely a Centre County resident died elsewhere in the state.
An estimated 72 percent of patients with the virus — or about 55,329 Pennsylvanians— have recovered, according to DOH.
Among the state’s total cases, 74,684 are confirmed and 2,162 are probable. For Centre County, 149 are confirmed and nine are probable.

Among bordering counties, Huntingdon now has 237 cases, Union has 75, Clinton has 62, Mifflin has 59, Blair has 53 and Clearfield has 48.
A total of 466,964 patients in Pennsylvania have tested negative for COVID-19, including 2,651 people in Centre County. Across the state, 993 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, with 211 requiring use of a ventilator as of noon on Wednesday.
