With a bridge replacement project set to begin, a section of Penns Valley Road/Route 45 will be closed beginning Thursday and detours are expected to be in place for 35 days.
The bridge spanning Pine Creek in Haines Township, near Woodward, will be replaced and cars and trucks will have separate detours.
Cars will be directed to follow a detour of Bower Hollow Road (T-508), Pine Creek Road (Route 2018), and Route 45. Trucks will be directed to Route 144, Route 192 and U.S. Route 15.
Motorists can expect added drive time to their destination.
The replacement is part of the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, a public-private partnership between the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners, and will remove it from Centre County’s structurally deficient bridge list.
