An 86-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with injuries after a crash involving seven vehicles Monday afternoon on North Atherton Street, according to Ferguson Township police.
The crash happened at about 1:50 p.m. on the 1100 block of North Atherton Street, near Cherry Lane.
An initial investigation determined that the injured woman drove between both northbound travel lanes, striking several vehicles and in turn causing them to strike other vehicles, police said.
The woman sustained lacerations and contusions and was taken by Centre LifeLink EMS to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment.
No one else involved reported any major injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
Ferguson Township Police, Patton Township Police, Centre Lifelink EMS, Alpha Fire Police, Alpha Fire Company, Tennis Towing and Stewarts Towing responded to the scene.
