State Rep. Paul Takac, D-College Township, will offer opportunities for Centre County residents to take advantage of free license plate replacement and paper shredding services at two upcoming events.
The license plate restoration event will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Pennsylvania Military Museum, 51 Boal Avenue, Boalsburg. Residents with Pennsylvania license plates that are peeling, discolored or hard to read can apply to get them replaced for free during the event, which is co-hosted by the State College Police Department.
Residents interested in participating are encouraged to contact Takac’s office at (814) 308-0569 to pre-register for the express line.
The paper shredding event, which will also serve as a pet supply drive, will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority, 253 Transfer Road, Bellefonte.
Only paper will be accepted at the event and should be placed in a disposable container.
The pet supply drive will collect items for Centre County PAWS. Acceptable donations include canned dog/cat food, unopened pet treats and toys, clean blankets, trash bags, paper towels, peanut butter (xylitol free), harnesses and waste bags.
