Kaytron Allen burst onto the scene in 2022 as part of a dynamic running back tandem alongside fellow freshman Nick Singleton.

Since taking over as co-starters, the two found ample success while rewriting the program record books. Allen showed linear improvement throughout his time as a Nittany Lion, reaching 867, 902, 1,108 and 1,303 yards per season, setting the program record for career rushing yards.

Allen also amassed 43 total touchdowns, including 15 in 2025, cementing himself as one of the top running back prospects in the upcoming NFL draft.

Though he began the season with a lower workload, Allen pulled away from Singleton throughout the year, earning the lion’s share of touches. He put up a career-high 226 yards in a win over Rutgers and eclipsed 140 yards on four other occasions.

Throughout his four seasons, Allen reached triple digits in 13 games, proving a critical part of an offense that often struggled in the passing game. Though he’s not known for receiving ability, Allen hauled in 70 passes for 490 yards and four touchdowns at Penn State, showcasing that ability if necessary.

Following one of the most accomplished careers by a Nittany Lion running back, Allen is a sure-fire draft pick, though there’s a wide range of projections.

“I feel good to have this opportunity … I’ve been dreaming about it so long, and it’s in reach,” Allen said. “Whatever happens, take advantage of it. All I need is an opportunity to just take advantage of.”
